My friend Chris IM’d me this morning to share the good news…it looks like the NHL is going to be open for business for the 2005 system. On the one hand it’s hard to feel sorry for either side here (“millionaires fighting with billionaires”), but as a San Jose Sharks fan I’m glad to see that they’ll be back on the ice. With the overwhelming popularity of the other “major” sports (NFL, MLB, NBA and of course NASCAR), I can’t believe that NHL would basically take a whole year off over this.
Yahoo! Sports is running a quick poll to see if folks are excited or not about this. So far the results don’t look good…
